How to Choose Cheap Hair Straighteners

By Jo Northwood

Like a lot of popular brands, if something is a lot cheaper than the RRP then you really have to be careful that they are not fakes. When a price seems to good to be true, the product could be a fake. This goes for GHDs hair straighteners as well. If you can not afford the hefty price tag of GHDs then there are plenty of other options to choose from that will still give the same results.

Not only are they not by GHD but the plates on the straighteners may be made of aluminum. This is very bad for your hair as it causes it to dry out and will permanently damage it. When hair straighteners first came onto the market aluminum is what they were first made off. The industry quickly realized that they would have to come up with some other materials to use as this is what the public wanted. These straighteners also were not dual use, like straighteners today. This means you can not curl or shape your hair with them, it is purely for straightening.

Ceramic and tourmaline plates lock in moisture of the hair and does not dry it out. They are also dual use plates, that straighten and curl without causing damage. Some cheaper brands in the UK with these components are Revlon and Remmington. Although they are only about 50% cheaper than GHDs and still can be classed as expensive, you really are getting a lot for your money.

The best thing is do when trying to find cheap hair straighteners is to investigate the true value of all brands. If you are going to fork out over 100 for some, are these going to last the distance and be good to your hair to make the spend worthwhile? Or is it better value spending half that amount on set of straighteners that last the same time even if they are not as good? It is really your choice and what you are going to use them for.

Read the consumer reviews, as these are the most honest reviews you will get in the industry. This will help you make the right decision when you are looking for cheap hair straighteners. - 30305
